The River Cassley tumbles through a rocky, wooden gorge near Rosehall. The falls are also know as Achnesss Falls, from Gaelic Ach-an-eas, meaning "fields of the waterfall". In spring, salmon wait below them until the water warms before heading upriver. In autumn, peaty spate water, old pines and larches, a quiet bench and a stone arches of Cassley Bridge make the whole stretch worth lingering over.
